Technology is evolving in ways that make communications and transactions that at one time took months to travel across the globe, take only seconds. With the introduction of the Internet, investigators and prosecutors entered into a world where economic and high-tech crime is constant and borderless. Our theme this year focuses on the growing challenge faced by the law enforcement community to identify, track and prosecute today’s new breed of criminals who use the Internet and other emerging technologies as a resource for researching, planning and committing economic and cyber-crimes.
For the past 12 years we have offered educational seminars and conferences around the country that draw audiences from local, state, federal and international law enforcement, regulatory and prosecution agencies. Academic and business leaders also attend our conferences to learn more about the changing landscape of white collar crime.
