Free Training Seminar for Law Enforcement on Fighting
Cyber Crime to be Held in Las Vegas, Nevada
RICHMOND, VA – The National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) will be holding a free training seminar for local, state, federal, and international law enforcement agencies; regulatory agencies; prosecution agencies; and institutions involved in the investigation, apprehension, prevention, or prosecution of economic and cyber crimes from across the country.
NW3C Honors the Texas State Securities Board
Richmond, VA –– The Texas State Securities Board was recently honored by the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) for outstanding accomplishments and support of NW3C’s sponsored training, support services, projects, events and partnerships. Presentation of the NW3C Member Agency Award for Excellence was part of the quarterly Board of Directors’ meeting in Providence, Rhode Island on October 26, 2006.
NW3C Honors Brian Flood, Inspector General, Texas Health and Human Services Commission
Richmond, VA – Mr. Brian G. Flood, Inspector General, Texas Health and Human Services Commission, was presented the Michael F. Burns Award for his inspiration to others and for generously committing his time, talents and energy to further the success of the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C). NW3C Board Chairman, Glen B. Gainer, III, presented the award at the quarterly Board of Directors’ meeting in Providence, Rhode Island on October 26, 2006. This award is presented annually to a NW3C Board Director who has shown dedication and commitment to NW3C’s future.
NW3C Announces Agenda and Speaker Lineup for the 10th Annual Economic Crime Summit in Providence, RI
RICHMOND, VA – The National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) will conduct its 10th Annual Economic Crime Summit in the same location as the first ground breaking Summit in the spring of 1997. The town of Providence, RI, will host a comprehensive assembly of “white collar crime” experts to discuss the latest crime trends. This regional conference tailored to address key prevention and investigation issues facing law enforcement, risk management, and loss control professionals will be held on October 24th and 25th, at the Westin Providence Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island.

Free Training Seminar for Law Enforcement on Fighting High-Tech Crime Held in Charleston, South Carolina
RICHMOND, VA – March 20, 2006 – The National White Collar Crime Center will be hosting a free training seminar for law enforcement sponsored by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division on March 23, 2006. The event, entitled, “Electronic Law Enforcement” will bring together local and state law enforcement from across the Southeast to learn the latest in computer crime trends and methods, specifically from a law enforcement perspective in the battle against economic and cyber crime. The event will also provide valuable information on some of the nocost resources available to help agencies combat, investigate and prosecute electronic crime.
2005 NW3C National Survey: Nearly One in Two Households Experienced at Least One Form Of White Collar Crime Within the Past Year
FAIRMONT, WV – MARCH 7, 2006 – The National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) released today the results of their 2005 national survey. The survey is a follow-up to the original, conducted in 1999, and is aimed at assessing white collar crime victimization and reporting behaviors, as well as public perception of this type of crime. Responses were collected from a nationally representative sample of over 1600 U.S. households.
NW3C to Host Its "STOP" Course to Shaquille O'Neal and Other Law Enforcement Officers at Miami Beach Police Department
GLEN ALLEN, VA – JANUARY 19, 2006 – The National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) announced today that they will be hosting their new Cyber-Investigation 100 – Secure Techniques for Onsite Preview (STOP) course to law enforcement at the Miami Beach Police Department, Miami Beach, FL, on January 24th and 25th, 2006. All-star basketball player and Miami Beach Police Detective, Shaquille O’Neal, will be in attendance along with approximately 30 fellow law enforcement officers.
