NW3C research is a resource of high-tech and economic crime information for member agencies, and public and private entities. Its mission is to identify the impact of economic crime, in hopes of increasing the public's awareness of the problem and law enforcement's ability to control it. This is accomplished by conducting original research on economic crime issues and member needs, collecting and distributing statistics and economic crime information, and evaluating different NW3C training programs and conferences.

NW3C's research section develops and conducts empirical studies on the awareness, prevention, and control of economic crime. The types of projects include survey and field research, secondary data analysis, and policy/program evaluation. The section offers analytical services to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) and also provides support for the White Collar Crime Research Consortium (WCCRC), a collective of more than 120 academic scholars and practitioners committed to promoting increased public awareness of the impact and burden of white collar crime on society through dedicated research.

NW3C researchers also respond to requests for information on economic crime, statistical data, and preventive measures. They also provide information on the legal aspects of white collar crime: from novel and complex legal issues in high-tech crime, to case law and legislative developments, to other white collar crime-related legal guidance.

Recent NW3C Research Initiatives
